Obituary of Bernadette Stewart

STEWART, Bernadette (Bunny) Josephine (nee Bastien). Suddenly, but peacefully while surrounded by her family on May 6, 2016 at the age of 81. Now at peace in the loving arms of her husband and best friend who she missed so much. Loving wife, soulmate, and best friend of Donald Gordon Stewart (Oct. 31, 2010) who she lost after 51 years of marriage. Deeply cherished and loved by her children Tim Stewart and wife Susan, Mona Turner and husband Jeff, Matt Stewart, Chuck Stewart (2007), Connie Meloche and husband Al, Aimee Stewart, and Maureen Curtis and husband Kevin. Adored and deeply missed by her grandchildren Lindsay Ducharme and husband Glenn, Katie Shaw and husband Jeff, and D.J. Turner, Dylan Stewart, Justin Hoadley, Samantha, Donny, and Michael Meloche, and Madison and Zachary Curtis. Proud Great-Meme of Audrey, Ella, and Kinsley Ducharme, and Lucas Shaw. Predeceased by her parents Ernest and Severyn Bastien, and siblings Theresa, Blaise, Andre, Napoleon, and Genevieve. Survived by sisters Constance Seguin and Angele Bastien. Beloved sister-in-law of Ken Stewart and wife Dianne, the late Eleanor and Ray Dummer, the late George Stewart and survived by his wife Beverly. Bernadette will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by numerous family members and friends. Bernadette was a long time member of the CWL at Most Precious Blood Church. Mom, we will love you and miss you forever! Special thanks to all the staff and residents at The Shoreview at Riverside, as well as the WRH Met Campus ER and ICU medical staff. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central Chapel), 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Road E. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 2 to 5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
