Obituary of Theresa Pavelich

PAVELICH, Theresa (nee Alexander) Died peacefully on March 22, 2016 at the age of 86 joining her beloved husband Frank (1999). Theresa is predeceased by her parents Stanislaus and Odile Alexander. She is being mourned by her children Joseph, Matthew (Roberta), Gregory (Christina) and Kathy (Matt MacEachern) and her grandchildren Joelle, James, Joshua, Frank, Sylvia, Olivia, Lauren and Jack. Dear sister to Stan and Gerald (Betty) and sister in law Madeline. Predeceased by her sister Eleanor, brothers in law George, Ed and Mike and sister in laws Theresa, Mary Anne and Mary. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Theresa was born in Walkerville and raised on Albert Road on the north side of the tracks. Here she learned how to be humble and kind. The importance of manners and the power of a kiss and hug. She could make anything a house needed .... a quilt for a bed or jam for a sandwich. No one could match her strawberry rhubarb pie or date squares. Family was always number 1 and the end of any good family meal meant the beginning of a game of cards. This was just one of the many ways she kept us all together. After retiring as an Educational Assistant at the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board, Theresa enjoyed time on the ice curling, travelling and going for lunch. Theresa was an avid bridge player who played at the Teutonia Club, LaSalle Senior Centre and with the always close to her heart, LaPorte Street Bridge club. Theresa was a devout Catholic and member of the St. John Vianney Parish community. A special thank you to all the staff at Hospice who made mom's last few weeks easier for her. At Theresa's request cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) on Monday, March 28, 2016, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers Monday at 7:30 pm. Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St.) for memorial visitation from 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment of Theresa's cremated remains to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider donations to Hospice of Windsor or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
