Obituary of Noemi Sivilotti

Stopped smiling on March 18, 2016 at the wonderful age of 96 years. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Gino (2000). Cherished mother of Emily DANELON and husband Dennis. Devoted and very proud Nonna of the loves of her life, her three grandsons, Michael, Mark (Tania), and David (Monique) and Bisnonna of Paolo, Sabrina and baby Danelon to be. Also survived by her remaining sister, Cesira Concil of Italy. She will also be missed by nieces and nephews in Michigan, Windsor, London, Toronto, Italy and France. Forever friends of card-playing partners, Pietro and Luigia Danelon, and life-long friend of Anna Maria Corrent. Will be remembered as a very special "Nonna" and "Bisnonna" to Jen (Jon), and Alexis. Noemi, daughter of the late Giovanni and Assunta, was born in San Daniele del Friuli, Italy in 1919, one of thirteen children. Predeceased by her siblings, Vittorio, Gioia, Iride, Annuta, Berto, Yolanda, Maria, Edoardo, Bruno, Lina, and Rita. She started working at the age of twelve and after coming to Canada in 1951, never stopped until her retirement in 1984 from Hotel-Dieu Hospital in the Convent of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Noemi was proud of being a Canadian. She took English classes and even became a nurse"s aide. Noemi had a beautiful smile that she always flashed. She loved to do cross-stitching and had a great devotion to Mary (Madonna delle Grazie), lighting candles, and praying for anyone who asked. Fortunately, she left the cooking to her husband, Gino! The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the CCAC, VON (Meals on Wheels), Lisa R., Dolce Vita, and especially to the caring staff at Huron Lodge (Maple Unit) for their never-ending patience, compassion, and loving attention. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd E, 519.253.7234 on Tuesday, March 22 from 2-5 and 7-9pm. Parish prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 23 at 8:45am from the Funeral Home to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
