Obituary of Salvatore Lopez

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 15, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Loving husband of 41 years to Caterina (nee Pappagallo). Beloved father to Sergio, John (Donna), Rose (Mike), and Mary Anne (Dan). Cherished Nonno of Johnny, Grace, Joey, and Marissa. Dearest brother to Agostino (Giulietta), Luisa (Sam) and in-laws, Nora and Santina. Cherished uncle and great friend to Saverio Durante. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents, Giovanni & Rosa, and siblings, Filomena (Antonio), Luigi, and Joe. Born on October 1, 1930 in San Giovanni in Fiore. He came to Canada where he established his well-known business, Sal"s Hair Shop. Sal was devoted to his loyal clients over the years. He was a proud member of the Giovanni Caboto Club for many years. The family would like to thank the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital ICU for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd E, 519.253.7234 on Friday, March 18 from 2-5 & 7-9. Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 19 at 10:15am from the Funeral Home to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
