Obituary of Fulvia Prantera (nee: Coco)

Prantera, Flora (Fulvia) (nee: Coco) It is with great sadness that Flora’s family announces her peaceful passing at home, surrounded by the love of her family, on August 22, 2020, in her 91st year. Loving wife to the late Luigi (2003) with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Cherished and beloved Mother of five, Joe (Mary Jane) Prantera, Rosa V. Cipparone, Lou (Lucia) Prantera, Mary (Jean-Marc) Aucoin and Susie Prantera. Treasured Nana to her ten grandchildren, Eugene (Sofia), Sam Jr. (Breanna), Rocco (Michelle) and Antonio (Lisa) Cipparone, Darrell (Jessica), Kyle, Ashley (Grant) and Angela Prantera, Marc (Ciara) and Louis (Lorena) Aucoin. Proud bis-Nana Flora to nine great-grandchildren, Allegra, Amalia, Aura, Enzo, Stella-Rose Cipparone, Vada, Scarlett, Mia, the late Dominic Aucoin. Dear sister to Luigi (Angela) Coco, the late Bill (Nina) Coco, and the late Antonio (Irma) Coco (Italy). Predeceased by her many in-laws of the Prantera and Coco families. Sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and their families in Canada, USA and Italy. Daughter of Rocco and Virginia Coco, born in Pietrafitta, Italy in November 1929. She left Italy for Canada in 1951. Flora was the matriarch of the family, who not only raised her children and grandchildren, but also her brothers, Luigi and Bill. She was an exceptional mother to each of her children, especially her special needs daughter, Susie. She was an extraordinary woman who leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family traditions. Flora invited everyone into her home, and no one left hungry. She was a truly self-less person, who put everyone’s needs ahead of herself. Flora exemplified class, elegance, grace, and kindness; a truly beautiful person inside and out. Life will never be the same and she will leave a void in our hearts. A special thank you to our sister, Rosa for her loving care of our mother, as well as Dr. Patrick Smith and all her PSWs.
