Obituary of Giacomo Santino De Santis

Passed away peacefully on August 22, 2020 at 90 years of age. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Restaino) having shared 67 years of marriage. Proud father of Angela (Walter Hupalo), Anna (Mike Baillargeon), Ciro (Karen) and Diane (Onofrio Greco). Special nonno of Christina (Jess), Steven (Amber), Michael (Liz), David, James (Dominique), Anthony (Chanelle), Danielle (2005) and Anthony. Bis nonno to 6 great grandchildren. Loved by many nieces and nephews from the De Santis and Restaino families. Giacomo is also survived by his sister Maria (late Tony). Predeceased by his brothers, Felice (Antonia), Gino (Cesidia) and Santino (Angela). Giacomo retired from the City of Windsor Parks and Rec department in 1993 after 27 years of service. He loved working outside tending to his garden, his fig tree and taking care of his cat. Most importantly, Giacomo enjoyed spending time with his family. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E, 519-253-7234 on Wednesday August 26, 2020 from 7-9pm. A private Funeral Mass will be held at a later date followed by entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In memory of Giacomo, donations may be made directly to Diabetes Canada and Windsor-Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
