Obituary of Rosa Maria Morando

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and friends on November 10, 2015 at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met. Campus at the age of 84 years. Reunited with her beloved husband Alfredo (September 21, 2012). Predeceased by her dear parents Pasquale and Assunta, and brothers Gigino and Joe. Loving mother to Maria Pia and husband Fabio Bernabo. Devoted Nonna to Matteo and Marco. Dear sister to Maria Anzolin (late Vittorio) and Pete Marra (late Joanne and Olga). Dear sister in law to Maria of Italy. Treasured aunt to Roger and Michelle (Melissa), Renzo and Monica (Rio and Doran), and Susy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in the USA and Italy. Rosetta doted on her family, loved socializing with friends, cooking, grocery shopping, and teaching Italian. She taught Italian for many years at the Caboto Club and with the heritage language program of the WECDSB. Taking care of an elderly parent requires empathy and compassion on the part of family, friends and community. We are sincerely blessed to have witnessed these beautiful qualities in the staff at Chartwell Oak Park Terrace (by Fogolar) where Rosetta spent her last 3 months. There, she rekindled old friendships and stoked new ones. A sincere thank you to Dr. Liang (Margaret, Karen and Maureen), CCAC (St. Elizabeth's, Revera, especially Samantha), Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus, 6 North and the Emergency room, as well as all the Nurses and Doctors. A heartfelt thank you to her many friends and family for their unconditional love, especially Nina Marazita, Serafina Guarascio, and special niece Monica. May Nonna now rest in Peace. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (BANWELL CHAPEL) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday November 13, 2015 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30 pm. Funeral Services on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 8:30 am from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
