Obituary of Carol Anne Pennylegion

PENNYLEGION, Carol Anne (nee McDermott) Born November 4th 1939, went peacefully into God's care at The Hospice of Windsor on Tuesday October 27th, 2015 in her 76th year surrounded by her family. Beloved Wife of Mike Heffernan. Loving Mother to Alan Pennylegion (Shawn), and Andrea Christmas. Dear step mother to Debbie Kay, Laura Kay (Greg), and Daniel Heffernan (Mary Lou). Carol is now reunited with her parents, Francis & Elsie McDermott. Predeceased by her sister Villa-Marie Thompson (Donny), James McDermott (Muriel), and Marilyn Foley (Jack). Survived by her sister Maxene Settle (Jack), John McDermott (Sandra) and Thomas McDermott (Patricia). Loving Grandmother to Dayna, Jennifer, David, Adam, Alexis, Dustin, Jordyn, Rebecca, Eric and Noah. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Carol was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy (Waterdown) and Sheridan College. She was a talented artist, singer, and dancer. She was also very active within her church and a member of the Catholic Women"s League. Carol also enjoyed her Red Hat Ladies outings. Visitation at Our Lady of Atonement Catholic Church (2940 Forest Glade Dr.) on Friday, October 30th, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSORCHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234. 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor or a charity of choice. In addition to the services in Windsor, there will also be a visitation held in Carol"s hometown of Hamilton, Ontario at PX Dermody Funeral Home (796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton, Ontario) 905-388-4141 on Sunday, November 1st, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 2nd, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Regina Mundi Rectory Church (631 Mowhawk Rd. W. Hamilton, Ontario). Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (254 Garner Rd. W., Ancaster, Ontario).
