Obituary of Andre Ataman

ATAMAN, "Andy" Andre Passed away peacefully August 27th, at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Marlene for 49 years. Loving father to Dean (Kristina) and Neil (Gia) with 2 beautiful grand-daughters, Brianna and Isabella. Andre was predeceased by parents John and Marie Jeanne. Brother of the late Johnny and Suzanne Ataman, survived by sisters Shirley (Jean Pierre), Sylvia (Jean), Sheila (Clement), brother Robert (Celine) and cousins, nieces and nephews. Andre moved from Quebec and started his journey in Ontario with the Royal Bank. He was a Driving Instructor for over 40 years in Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor. In addition he also worked for CP Rail for 25 years. As an active member of of the Father A. Nolan Knights of Columbus Council 9865 for 20 years, Andre was past Grand Knight and held the the title of Treasurer the last 8 years. He was also a 4th Degree Member of Father A. Kerckhaert Assembly 2289 and held many positions including Navigator and Captain. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, watching his sons play baseball, going to concerts and travelling the world with his wife Marlene. Visitation will take place at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, (Banwell Chapel) 253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday, August 30th, 2015 from 7-9pm and Monday, 2-5 and 7-9pm. Parish Prayers Monday at 4:30pm and K Of C Prayers at 7:30pm. Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe St.) at 10am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Followed by a procession to Heavenly Rest Crematoriun. The family would like to thank Dr. Sheehan and staff from the 3rd floor Palliative Care Unit at HDGH, the Transition to Betterness Volunteers and teams at Met. Hospital, CCAC and Bayshore Home Health. If you so desire, donations made to Transition to Betterness are welcome and appreciated by the family.
