Obituary of Antonio Longo

LONGO, Antonio (1924-2015) Antonio passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 1, 2015 at the age of 91. Beloved and devoted husband to Delfina Longo (nee Palombo) with whom he shared 69 years of marriage. Adored and loving father to Angela Paniccia (Quinto) and Attilio Longo (the late Anna). Cherished Nonno of Robert Paniccia, Mirella Mancini (Robert), Claudio Paniccia (Sonia), Lisa Mosca (Egidio), and Tony Longo (Lindsey). Treasured bisnonno to Michael, Anthony, Matthew, Anissa, Alexa, Matteo and Lexie. He will be missed greatly by many cousins, nieces and nephews from Canada and Italy. Antonio immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1966. He retired from Huron Lodge Nursing Home after 20 years of dedicated service as a cook. Through his love of cooking he enjoyed good food, good friends and good times. Antonio was also a long time member of the Ciociaro Club of Windsor. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chevalier and the 5th floor staff at the Windsor Regional Hospital-Met Campus for their wonderful care and compassion. E., on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Tuesday at 4 p.m. Funeral service on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 10:15 am from the funeral home to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In keeping with Antonio"s wishes, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Italian Canadian Handicapable Association (ICHA).
