Obituary of Edwin Paul Kornacki
Edwin died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Goyeau) 2004. Loving father of Paul and wife Jeanette, Mary Beth, Anne and husband Robert Coelho. Dearest "PapaGigi" of Andrew, Gillian, Madelaine, Emma, Robbie, Kahlum (great grand-child). Predeceased by his parents Melania and Paul Kornacki (1963), sister Sophie Landriault (2004) and her husband David (2009), brother Edward Kornacki (2008) and his wife Carmen, mother-in-law Anne (2000) and father-in-law Raymond Goyeau (1965) and step father-in-law John Swinton (1978), sister in-law Antoinette Fancsy and husband Steven (1998), brother-in-law Drs. Frank Goyeau (2013) and wife Pauline (2004) and Raymond Goyeau Jr., step brother-in-law Jack Swinton Jr. and wife Sheila, Margaret and husband Don McKenzie. Edwin will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. Edwin"s involvement in Youth Organizations started at an early age and continued throughout his life. C.Y.O. Federation of Regis Club of the Diocese of London as 1st Vice President, founding and active member of Club 240 of Athletic Club with Jimmy Hogan, coaching and winning all Ontario Basketball Championship in 1954 with Brother Xavier and all Ontario Bantam Champions in 1954. School Board Trustee, Ward 4, 18 years as Management Chairman and Education Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson of the Catholic High School Board. Edwin was co-owner in the family"s grocery store known as Seminole Provision where he worked throughout his lifetime until the business closed in December 31, 1990. Edwin was an avid golfer enjoying the game with his many friends as a member of Ford Senior League at Dominion Golf Course. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish where he served on the Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister, Altar Serving and an active and lifetime member for over 50 years with the Windsor Council 1453 Knights of Columbus as a Trustee. At the time of his death he was a member of Most Precious Blood Parish where he served for many years as Eucharistic Minister. Special thanks to Pauline Moore who tirelessly helped Edwin over the last few years as well as the good friends and neighbours on Francois Rd. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, July 27th, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. . Parish prayers Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Windsor-Essex Cardiac Wellness Centre, Windsor Regional Hospital and Most Precious Blood Parish Building Fund.
