Obituary of Anna Lozinsky

LOZINSKY, Anna "BABA" (nee Matis) Anna passed away on July 6, 2015 at Leamington District Hospital surrounded by her loving family at 95 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Victor Lozinsky (1987). Cherished mother of Walter (Natalie) Lozynsky, Emily (Larry) DeMartin, and Bill (Erica) Lozynsky. Devoted grandmother to John (Natalie-Brooke, Haylee), Michael Lozynsky, Jeffrey and Jackie DeMartin, and Jessica and Aaron Lozynsky. Great-grandmother to Julia Lozynsky. Survived by her siblings Helen Klein and Emil ( Ann) Matis; and predeceased by Vera (Henry) Chlebek, Mary (Ken) Malcolm, Andy (Maryanne) Matis, and Klein. Anna will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Her life will be celebrated for the joy she inspired and especially for her kindness, humour, humble nature, work ethic, and devotion to family. Born October 28, 1919 to Andrew Matis and Mary Frimer in a small town near Presov, Czechoslovakia, she lived in Windsor/Essex for most of her life after immigrating to Canada as a teen. She was the matriarch of a large family, a skilled and committed gardener, and an avid reader. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Panakhyda Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to Sts. Vladimir & Olga Byzantine Catholic Church (601 Lake Trail Dr.) for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rt. Rev. Fr. Eugene Halitsky officiating. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
