Obituary of Luigi Pietro Gobatto

GOBATTO, Luigi Passed away peacefully on May 28, 2015 at Windsor Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee DeMartin). Treasured father of Manuella (Mandy), Jeffrey, and Nancy. Father-in-law of Craig, Amanda, and Katie. Cherished Nonu of Meg, Aiden, Jessica, and Jacob. Brother of Amalia, Roberto (deceased), Meris (deceased), Sesto (deceased), Anna Maria, Bruno, and Pierangelo. Loved by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Luigi came to Canada from Palazzolo dello Stella in Udine, Italy in 1959, joining his sister in Quebec, eventually settling in Windsor in 1969. A proud worker at Ford Motor Company for 30 years, his true passion was his garden: a yard lined with grape vines and bursting with tomatoes and cucumbers and beans. Luigi was an active member of Fogolar Furlan Club for over 40 years, and at this point would be saying "Eh, [Italian swear word] why you keep writing? You say enough." East on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Monday, June 1, 2015 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Saint Elizabeth Health Care.
