Obituary of Saverio Mastroianni

Passed away peacefully on August 1, 2020 with his loving family by his side at the age of 76. Born on June 25, 1944 in Sora, Italy. Beloved husband of Loreta (nee Romano) with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. Cherished father of Marcello (Christine) and Rita (Zvonko). Adored nonno to Daniel, Andrew, Matthew, Luca, Zachary and Cameron. Predeceased by his parents Orazio and Pasqua Mastroianni. Dear brother of the late Maria (late Loretto), Late Fortunato (Maria), Domenica (Angelo), Santino (Bernadina). He will be remembered by many brother in laws, sister in laws, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Special thanks and place in his heart for sister in law Giuseppina and family and nephew Tony (Brenda). Saverio’s most precious treasures were his grandchildren who he embraced every moment with them. Saverio will always be remembered for his family gathering, love of BBQ, wine and espresso. He loved relaxing in his back yard gardening or playing scopa against anyone who dared challenge him under his grapevine pergola. His contagious smile and laugh will be remembered and missed by all. Saverio was a talented bricklayer by trade and retired from the GECDSB. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 5-9pm. A private family mass will take place. Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society or Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
