Obituary of Raymond Bala

BALA, Raymond Passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family in Windsor, ON on April 7, 2015. Beloved husband for 62 years of Marjorie (n"e Budoloski); dear father of Ronald and wife Lou Ann of Toronto, ON; Jo-Ann Bala of Windsor; Raymond and wife Tracey of Berkley, MI. Brother of Nadia (the late Joseph) Martin of Guelph, ON; Iris Bala of Windsor; and the late brother-in-law of Walter Budoloski (Anne) of Windsor. Loving grandfather of Raechel Moayer (Ryan) of Danville, CA; and Nikolos and James Bala of Berkley. Loving great grandfather of Zara Rae Moayer. Ray was loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Nicholas (1978) and mother Anna (1989). He was a Staff Inspector with the Windsor Police Department retiring in 1984 after 34 years of service. Ray was the Canadian (1955) and Ontario (1955, 1958) ten-pin bowling singles champion. He is a member of the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame and the Windsor/Essex County Bowling Hall of Fame. Long-time member of Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Parish. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel), 519.253.7234, 1700 Tecumseh Road East, Windsor, on Thursday, April 9 from 6 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. with prayers at 7.30 p.m. In accordance with his wishes a private family service will be held with burial at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family appreciates the love and support that Ray received from all his caregivers especially those from Aspen Lake, Windsor. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations to the Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Parish Building Fund would be appreciated.
