Obituary of Malte Gideon Stahlbrand

STAHLBRAND, Malte Passed away on March 12, 2015 at the age of 91. Born in Sweden, the son of Gustav and Ingrid. He leaves behind his wife Beverley and his children Peter (Liz), Rodney (Beth), Erik (Colleen), Marie (Larry), and adopted son John (Germaine). Grandchildren Matthew (Vanessa), Jeff (Erin), Meghan (Nick), Ian, Carl, Melody, Marissa (Basel), and Ryan. Great-grandchildren Cameron, Drew, Lilja, and Cohen. Malte was a former employee of Olsonite Co. He was Past President of the Downtown Windsor Lions Club and Past President of the Probus Club of Port Elgin. Member of the RCL BR # 261. He and his four brothers Bert (Sue), Gordon (Mary), Rueben (Evelyn), Gus (Kay) now deceased were RCAF Veterans of WWII. Also deceased are his sisters Alice Vik and Elsie Svendsen. He had many nieces and nephews who will never forget their Uncle Malte. As requested cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation on Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Stephen's Church (5280 Howard Ave.) from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Veterans Service under the Auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee. Officiated by Rev. Paul Poolton. Interment at St. Stephen's Cemetery (spring 2015). Friends can participate in the service and then meet with the family in the church hall where a light lunch will be served.
