Obituary of Simonne Marie Papak

Papak, Simonne Marie (nee Deguire) With deep faith and a strong devotion to the Blessed Mary and St. Theresa of the Little Flower, Simonne went to see her Lord while surrounded by her loving family on July 29, 2020 at 93 years of age. Born November 19, 1926 in Windsor, Ontario. Beloved wife of 46 years to the late Frank Papak (1993). Loving mother of sons Frank (Cathy), Donald (Judy) and Robert (Jeanne) and daughter Carol Ann (David Wilson). Also survived by her sisters Jeannette, Helene and Irene. Dearest Grandma to Doug (Nancy), Mike (Noelle), Cathy (Brad), Pamla (Wayne), Alan (Lucie), Karen, Jennifer (Adam) and Jason (Stephanie). Special Grand-Meme to Chase, Zoe, Ashley Lynne, Maddissen, Shelden, Terrel, Robert, Joseph, Ashley Margaret, Edward, Benjamin, Grace, Joseph Andre and Marianne. Predeceased by father Henri Deguire (1968), mother Cordelia nee Villeneuve (1979), brothers Real (2016), Henri (1998), Maurice (1995) and Rene (1937) and sister Marie Anne (2019). She will be sadly missed by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. Simonne was a proud member of the CWL at Christ the King Church. She will be lovingly remembered for her arts and crafts especially on those cold nights when her knitted sweaters, mittens, scarves and slippers can be snuggled with. She gave away most of her creations to those in need. She shared with everyone around her, and possessed an amazing memory right to the very end. Mom was a life long devotee of The Blessed Virgin Mary and led by her example. She was extremely generous and supported numerous local and international charities including Save the Children. Mom was well known as a fantastic cook who cheerfully provided wonderful soups, baked goods and home cooked meals to her family and friends. She was a huge Windsor Spitfires and Toronto Blue Jays fan. Mom was the glue that held our family together and always remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries without fail. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens and enjoyed canning. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Avenue, 519-253-7234 on Saturday, August 1, 2020 from 10am - 12pm. A private family service will follow. All are welcome to join the family for Simonne’s interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery at approximately 1pm. PLEASE NOTE: MASKS ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO ENTERING THE FUNERAL HOME AND MUST BE WORN AT THE CEMETERY. To honour Simonne’s life, in lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice of Windsor or the Humane Society in her name would be greatly appreciated.
