Obituary of Peter Alexander Blak

BLAK, Peter, Alexander Peacefully passed away on January 8, 2014 at WRH " Ouellette Campus in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Elsie (nee Kondruk). They were to celebrate their 66th anniversary on January 29th. Loving father of Virginia (David) Genoway, Victoria (Samuel) Corken, Anthony (Stella) Blak, Valarie (Douglas) Gill, and Gregory (Angela) Blak. Cherished grandfather of Philip (Jodie) Genoway, Peter Genoway, Robert Genoway, Jenny (Jeff) Masselis, Peter (Zeinab) Blak, Julie Gill, Daniel Gill, Stefani Blak (fianc"e Alex), Thomas Corken, Alex Corken, Alexander Blak, and Adam Blak. Very proud great grandfather of Jacob, Joshua, Benjamin, and future baby girl. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Victoria Blak; and his brothers Walter, Henry, Matthew, Alphonse, Victor, and sister Helen. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Peter is well known as the Patriarch of Blak"s Bakery at 1022 Langlois in Windsor. He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Polish Church and also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Dean Wagner Assembly, 3rd Degree Council #1453. Peter was also a member of the Ontario Scarlett, Nobles & Ladies; the Moose Lodge; the Canadian & American Baker"s Association. He was also Vice President of the Polish Border City Club. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Visiting will continue on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Combined Parish and Knights of Columbus prayers on Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Parish (1035 Ellis St. E.) for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Peter to the Holy Trinity Building Fund or the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
