Louis was always the brightest spot for me at family gatherings. We usually talked about our shared love of music, and I loved his wicked sense of humour. He had a way about him that just pulled you in, and made you feel at ease. Kinda like the sun. Shine on brother. Be free.

I just wanted to express my condolences for the passing of Louis. It is very sad to see a family lose such a young man. I know Louis was a vey devoted husband and proud father. I worked with him at the W.U.C. from 1986-1999. When I started to work at the age of 21, Louis was a great pal. He made me feel vey welcome and was a great guy to work with. He had a great sense of humour and was the kind of guy who was fun to be around. He was a big man and I was only 5'6", 160lbs and one day he decided he wanted to wrestle. We were horsing around on someone's front lawn and just by some freakish luck I managed to flip him on his side. He went down hard on his shoulder and I was terrified that he was going to get up and kill me. But he was OK and to my relief he just laughed it off. We used to eat lunch together back at the yard and Louis used to give awesome shoulder rubs. I told him he should be a masseuse, he had great hands. Many things come to mind when I think about Louis but this story has had the most affect on me. One cloudy day driving home from the yard at Pillette and Grand Marais I was stuck in traffic waiting to get on the expressway on Central. I was having a bad day and was ticked off to be stuck in traffic. While I was sitting there I heard this incessant honking behind me. At first I was angry because we were stuck in traffic but when I looked back in the mirror I saw it was Louis. He was very excited, he was bouncing in his seat, honking, and pointing for me to look to my left. When I looked to see what he was pointing at I saw the most beautiful rainbow! It was brilliant. Full arc and bright right across the cloudy sky. When I saw that rainbow I knew I was blessed. If Louis hadn't shown me that rainbow I would have just made the turn onto the expressway none the wiser. It was great and it taught me to look around for some good even when things seem bad. I'll always be thankful Louis cared enough to show me. Whenever I see a rainbow I think of him and how he taught me to look on the bright side. Once again we are very sorry for your loss. Thanks for the memories Louis! Doug Stadder and family

I cannot tell you how sorry I am. Louie, Dan Omahen, and I were always together growing up.. How we laughed, played, and were joined at the hip. We were the 3 amigos. All 3 friends till the end. What a beautiful childhood we had. Louie always was happy. I can hear is laughter now. We three always looking for adventure but it didn't matter as long as we were together. Louie may be in Heaven, but he is in all of hearts cause a beautiful soul like his never dies. Let us remember all the great days, and not just the day he left us. God bless Marylou, his kids, Larry, Angelo and Maria Silani, and the McGuinness family. I love you, and love you Louie

Please accept our condolences on the passing of Louis. Our family have been longtime friends of the family going back to when Angelo and Rink Della Mora worked together at Keystone Construction. We'll never forget the company Christmas dinners at the Other Place where Louis kept us laughing playing jokes on Larry like loosening the salt and pepper shakers. When Larry used them of course his plate was covered. He was a special person for others to keep memories alive from so long ago. We're sure you all have many memories to cherish.
