Obituary of Irene Louise Micallef
MICALLEF, Charles & Irene Charles John Micallef, age 70, passed away peacefully at Berkshire Care in Windsor on September 27th, 2014 and his wife, Irene Louise Micallef (nee Carey), age 68, passed away surrounded by family 28 days later on October 25th, 2014 at Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus. Married on March 17th, 1967, they continue to be together after 47 years. Their story began with Charles' birth in Gzira, Malta on June 20th, 1944 and Irene in Mount Carmel, Ontario on June 8th 1946. After emigrating with his family in 1948, Charles grew up in the east end of Windsor. After their marriage, they would continue to live in the same area of Windsor until the end of their days. Charles was a retired member of Local 444 working at Chrysler Canada Windsor Assembly Plant for 38 years and Irene worked at the first Taco Bell in Canada along with many Charitable organizations and Elections Canada and Elections Ontario. They spent their retired years helping to care for their surviving parents and spoiling their grandkids. Survived by their daughter Catherine and her husband Rod, and son Steve; favourite grandkids Victoria and Andrew; Irene's mother Laura; many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to a shared celebration of their lives at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Road East, on Thursday October 30th, 2014 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm Prayers at 4 pm. Funeral Services on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00 am at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.). As per their wishes, cremation to follow and interment together at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel, Ontario at a later date.
