Obituary of Francesco Salamone

SALAMONE, Francesco June 3, 1940-September 3, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco. Predeceased by his wife Jean (nee Kirby, 2005). Beloved father to Bennie (Leo) Moscone and Anita Salamone. Dear nonno to Madison, Catherine, Owen and Sierra. Predeceased by his parents Calogero and Benedetta. Beloved brother to Maria (Clemente) Iannone, late Salvatore (Alba) Salamone, Benedetta (Franco) Vaccarello, Gianna (Roberto) Verzola, Filippo (Gerlanda) Salamone; all of whom reside in Italy. Greatly loved by his many nieces and nephews. Special friend to Annette and Ray Maurice. Francesco immigrated from Italy to England where he worked as a chef until immigrating to Canada in 1967. He was a butcher by trade where he owned his own business until eventually ending his career working for A & P. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2092 and the 4th degree Father Francis Xavier Granottier Council 3432 in Owen Sound. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday September 5, 2014 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Friday at 4:30pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday September 6, 2014 at 9:00 am at the Banwell Chapel followed by a procession to Good Shepherd Church (St. Gregory Site) (13789 St. Gregory Rd.) for Mass of the Resurrection for 10:30 am.
