Obituary of Nelson Joseph Timothy

TIMOTHY, Nelson Joseph Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at W.R.H-Ouellette Campus, only 4 days shy of his 88th birthday. Reunited with his beloved wife Mary Jane (nee Desjardins)(2004). Loving father of Joan & Paul Cooney, Randy & Gloria Timothy, Bruce & Georgina Timothy, and the late Judy Knechtel (2013) & Dean. Proud grandfather of Laurie Lafromboise (Ken), Brenda Ferrari (Don), Ron Lafromboise (Lisa), Ken Cooney (Aileen), Cheryl Pike (Jeff), Michael Timothy (Vanessa), Matthew Timothy (Becky), Michelle Timothy, and Ashton Timothy. Remembered by his 12 great grandchildren and his great great granddaughter. Dear brother of Leonard Timothy, Gerald Timothy, Ronald & Yvonne Timothy, and Elaine Marion. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Nelson worked for many years at Ford Motor Company Canada as a tinsmith before enjoying his retirement. He was a skilled tradesman and a proud member of CAW Local 200. He was affectionately known as "Mr. Fix-it" If it was broken, Nelson could fix anything, and while he never had a job in sales he was also known for being a great salesman. Memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave.) for a graveside Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
