Obituary of Luigi and Elida Toniolo

Reunited in Heaven, Elida (April 1, 2020) and Luigi (July 5, 2020). Cherished Mother and Father to Nancy and Tom Byrne, Mario and Kristine Toniolo. Loved Grandfather and Grandmother to Julia, Nina, John, Claudia, Tyler, Faith and Madison. Both are loved and remembered by Luigi’s Toniolo siblings, Augusto (Rosa), the late Francesco, the late Maria, Pietro(Josie) and Danilo (Emma) and Elida’s Torres siblings, the late Froilan, the late Olivia, the late Elizabeth, the late Esperansa, Ester (Felix) and Irma (the late Ruben). Elida and Luigi will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Luigi and Elida met at a Dance in Detroit and were married for 50 years. They had a zest for life and lived to the fullest. A one of a kind couple who loved their family and friends unconditionally. Luigi and Elida were a warm welcoming duo who made everyone feel like family. Both fought their illness bravely over many years as they lived for each other, their children and grandchildren and would never give up. We would like to thank all those that helped our family over the years to keep them living in a dignified manner - Huron Lodge Nursing Home RN’s, RPN’s and PSW’s for the excellent care provided to Elida. For Luigi’s care over 15 years thank you to the Cancer Centre Dr. Springer and Dr. Matthews, Erie St. Clair LHIN, Nurse Practitioner Stephanie Duval, VON- Vicky, Bayshore PSW’s Fidel and Kaylee as well as the Staff at the Hospice of Windsor especially RPN’s April, Tammy, Therece and Dr Rukavina. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road, 519-253-7234on Thursday, July 9 from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm. PLEASE NOTE: MASKS ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO ENTERING THE FACILITIES AND MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. ALL IN ATTENDANCE MUST WEAR A MASK.
