Obituary of Maria Vido

VIDO, Maria "Cesira" (nee Bianchet) Passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the age of 76. Reunited with her beloved husband of 54 years, Silvio (2012). Loving mother of Anthony & Marie Vido and Randy & Tammy Vido. Proud Nonna of Christian, Katina, Jasmine and Tyler. Loving sister of Attilio (Paolina), Antonio (1985) (Lauretta), Erminia (2012) (Gianni 2009) and Ferdinando (Giacomina), in Italy. Cesira is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. In 1958, Cesira immigrated to Canada to join Silvio and start their life together. Cesira will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, nonna and dear friend. She will be greatly missed by all of the people whose lives she touched through her selfless acts and compassionate ways. Cesira was a long-time member of the Fogolar Furlan Women"s Association, the Italian Women"s Club, G. Caboto Auxiliary and an active volunteer within the community. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 2:15 p.m. from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 3 p.m. Entombment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Cesira to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation, or Hospice of Windsor are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
