Obituary of Maria Naccarato

NACCARATO Maria (Nee Mazzotta) With very sad hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, nonna, bis-nonna, sister and sister-in-law, aunt and friend to all. Born on April 21, 1928 in Amantea, Italy; and then on March 17th, 2014, Maria went to meet her Saviour, as she passed away peacefully with her husband and family by her side, at the Hospice of Windsor. At 85 years of age, she leaves behind her devoted husband of nearly 65 years, Michele; her loving son Frank and wife Lida; her loving son Gino; her loving daughter Linda and husband Lance Cronk; and her loving nephew, Settimio and wife Pauline. Celebrating her life with cherished memories are her grandchildren, Anissa and Sasha Janceski, Michael and Vanessa Naccarato, Mitchell Cronk, and grand-niece Cristina Naccarato. Maria was the treasured bis-nonna of Mia, David, Michael and Jonathan-her "Sweeties". She will be missed by her sisters-in-law Carmela Mazzotta and Maria Mazzotta and families. Her three brothers pre-deceased her- Vittorio, Pasquale and Giuseppe. Maria was always grateful to her brother-in-law, Arcangelo Naccarato and wife Teresa, for their constant companionship and assistance throughout her life. She will be fondly remembered by her in-laws, Luigi Naccarato (Gigina); Maria and Mario Gagliardi; and Mafalda and Pierino Sicoli, all of Ottawa; and in Italy, Elena and Angelo Bossio, Vittorio and Vera (and late wife Rosina) Naccarato, Bernardo and Irena Naccarato, Elvira and Fiore Deluca, Giovanni and Domenica Naccarato, as well as many nieces and nephews. Maria provided a loving home and made everyone feel welcome at her kitchen table. She enjoyed sharing the harvest from her garden as well as her delicious baked goods. She always showed compassion to her neighbours, friends and family. Her legacy, "I have loved you, now you must go on, and love one another". Special appreciation to all of the angels that work at the Hospice of Windsor, who made Mom"s last week comfortable. To Dr. Frank Demarco, Dr. Al-Farra, Dr. John Minardi, Dr. Singh, Dr. Cohen, and the many nurses and caregivers, especially Adrianna from Revera, who attended to Maria during her illness, your care and compassion will always be remembered.
