Obituary of Earl Edward Lott
Earl Edward Lott Born- Leamington, Ontario July 28, 1921-Passed away February 25, 2014. Predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Bertha Lott, Nee Bannister. Predeceased by Parents- John and Ella, Brothers-Jay Lott, Jack Lott, Sisters-Lois MacGregor, Shirley Setterington, Mable Nicholson, Maxine Quick. Survived by sons Barry of Windsor, John (Marion) of London, and Grand-daughters Catherine and Carolyn both of London. Special mention to niece Marilyn (Tom) Douglas of Windsor, who assisted Earl in his transition into Kensington Court. As well niece Mary (William) Smith of Sherwood Park, Alberta who would treat Earl like a "king" during his vacations to her cottage in northern Alberta. Earl graduated from Leamington High School and directly entered the Ford Trade School. He graduated into a position at Ford Windsor in the Body Tool Room. He left Ford in 1942 to join the RCAF where he served 3.5 years. Upon discharge he returned to Ford and secured a position in Machine Repair. Finally after 42 years, Earl retired in 1984. During retirement Earl enjoyed many years golfing and curling. He also joined the Kiwanis Golden "K", where he relished the many outings and visits to other clubs. The Tigers games would either be on the radio or the TV, in the summers, and not a Saturday Hockey Night in Canada would be missed during the winter. Most of all he loved to watch his granddaughters play sports, especially soccer. He served many years at Paulin Memorial Church, as a Sunday School teacher as well as a member of the Session. Earl especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends during the countless vacations at Batchewana Bay on Lake Superior. At Earl's request cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Saturday March 1, 2014 from 9:30 am until 10:45 am then a Veterans service under the Auspices of the Windsor Veterans Memorial Service Committee followed by a memorial Service for Earl at 11:00 am. Rev. Wendy Paterson officiating. Donations in lieu of flowers would be appreciated for Community Living Windsor or Kiwanis Club of Windsor.
