Obituary of Mary Syroid

On June 26, 2020, a quiet caring soul has left a void in many lives. Marie was born in Espanola, Ontario on June 8, 1932 to Harry (1999) and Jennie (1999) Syroid. She was adored by her sisters, Kathy Galay (Dennis 2019) and Jeana Syroid. She is survived by two aunts and many cousins in Espanola, St. Catherines, Toronto and Amherstburg. Marie endeared herself to everyone she met with long friendships. Her kindness and quiet manner touched many. Marie was employed by Dr. W. Cunningham, Dr. W. Liu and Dr. N. Chou. In her early years she travelled throughout Canada, U.S.A., Europe and the Carribean. Marie volunteered as a pyrohy maker and packer at the Ukrainian National Federation, Sts. Vladimir & Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Joseph Church (River Canard), Hope for the Cure, and Park Homestead. Her cross stitch skills were a work of art. The children of many cousins were gifted with Cabbage Patch dolls in Ukrainian costumes. A sincere thank you to Lynn Cyback, Dr. Sherman and Staff, many friends, LHIN and all their support agencies that helped Marie on her final journey. A family graveside Committal Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave., LaSalle, Ontario).
