My Uncle Al was not only my Dad's best friend but also a Dear friend of mine and my family. Though we were not related we might as well have been as he's always been family to us Pattisons. I'm sending this message from Maui right now and my heart is not really here as it's with the Severs family and friends. He always said to me; If you're such a good drummer Brian, then why don't you just beat it. Then he'd laugh as he told me that joke many times. My Dad, Al & I spent many a thursday aft. at the Canadian Anglo Club sharing a few beers and swapping stories. We all shared a love for our Detroit Tigers and My girls and I always loved spending time with Al at the family home on Lake St. Clair. I know 86 is a long life but I just hate to see him go. I'll miss him always and I'm so grateful for all the fond memories he gave me. Many a time he comforted me when I was at odds with my parents or life. I miss him more than words can say. Love you Uncle Alan as I do Debbie, Julie, David and of course Auntie Rita, as did our dearly departed Mother Helen who also adored Big Al. Aloha Uncle Al.
