Obituary of Paul Macko

MACKO, Paul Passed away peacefully on January 21, 2014 at the age of 93 years. Loving husband to Helen (nee Kost).Beloved father of Helen Binder (Ron), Dr. Sharon Macko (Rod Syer), and Paul Robert Macko (Debbie). Dear dido to Anita (Rolf), Nancy, Jennifer, Carolyn, Robert and great-dido to Coral and Dexter. Paul is survived by his sisters Anne McWha, Julie Macko and Dr. Irene Macko. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Bezerko. He was a dear brother-in-law to Martha Kost. He will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends. Paul was born in Habura, Slovakia in 1920 and came to Canada as a teenager. He had a long career as an electrician at Ford Motor Company, and was a proud member of the Canadian Autoworkers Union. Parishioners at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church will remember the many years that his strong voice led Sunday mass, in his role as church cantor. His warm smile and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. Paul's family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Aspen Lakes and Windsor Regional Hospital (Met Campus) for their compassion and care. Visitation will be at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
