Obituary of Lorin Arthur Parent
PARENT, Lorin Arthur Born December 2, 1921. Passed away peacefully on January 20, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband of Iris (nee Brown). Loving father to James (Randa), Linda, Kathryn Hayward (Jim), Patricia Schertzer (Bob), Robert (Susan), Mary Lou (Dann) and Maggie Lanoue (Dennis) and predeceased by son-in-law Dan Lefaive. Predeceased by brothers Louis, Edward (Irene) and Ralph. Survived by brother Ken (Geen) of Arizona and sister in-laws Vi and Shirley. Dear Grandpa to 13 grandchildren, Eli, Aaron, Ross, Joe, Jamie, Connie, Marnie, Andrea, Corinne, Adam, Hannah, Paul and late Andrew (1978). Loving great grandpa of 11 great grandchildren. Lorin enjoyed his short career working on the ships in the Great Lakes before beginning his long time job at Ford Motor Co. from which he retired after 39 years. He was also a member of Local 200, a long time member of the Knights of Columbus #4924 and an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion #255. Lorin spent many happy summers at the cottage in Muskoka with Iris and his family. Our family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the Care Providers and Staff at Heron Terrace for their exceptional care. Knights of Columbus prayers Thursday at 7:30pm. Relatives and friends will be received on Friday January 24, 2014 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Atonement Church (2940 Forest Glade Drive) until time of funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In memory of Lorin, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
