Obituary of Kathleen Ryan

RYAN, Kathleen "Kay" (nee Kelaher) 87 years. Passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 18, 2013. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late James (2006). Loving mother of Dr. Patrick Ryan and wife Jane of Grosse Pointe, MI., Danny Ryan and wife Marg of Essex, Colleen Kehoe and husband Don of Harrow, and Maureen Curtis of Windsor. Dear grandmother to Kelly Russell (Pierre) of Stratford, Dr. Liam Ryan (Emily) of North Carolina, Ryan Kehoe (Holly) of Harrow. Great-grandmother to Chloe and Connor Russell, Blanche Ryan, Noah, Neva, Ethan, Makayla and Owen. Kay also enjoyed the company of many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren through the blended families of her children. Special friend for over 40 years to the late Fr. Paul and Fr. Bob Charbonneau . Daughter of the late Patrick and Kathleen Kelaher (nee Clarke). Predeceased by her sisters Teresa Ruzycki (Frank), Margaret Kane (Paul), Barbara Burke (Jim), and survived by sisters Genny Edwards (late Dyson), and Sally Yott (late Chuck). Dear sister in-law to Fran Ryan of London. She will be sadly missed by all the Ryan families. Survived by many nieces and nephews and special aunt to Sharon. She will be sadly missed by all at Brentwood and especially all the women. Kay and her late husband Jim were co-founders of Brentwood Recovery Home where she was involved until her final days. She served as a Corporal in the Canadian Women's Army Corps during WWII. Special thank you to Dr. Shen and all the 7th floor staff at Hotel Dieu Campus. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Veterans Memorial Service, under the auspices of the Windsor Veteran's Memorial Committee will take place on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Brentwood Recovery Home (2335 Dougall Avenue) from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 noon. A graveside burial to follow at Country Meadows Cemetery (Hwy 3 Essex) at 3:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Brentwood Recovery Home.
