Obituary of Mary Kowal

KOWAL, Mary (nee Ellis) passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2013, at the age of 78. Born in Sheffield, England, the daughter of the late Ethel & Eric Ellis. Mary is reunited with her beloved husband Edward Kowal (Kowalczykowski) (2007). Loving mother of Kathryn McKay (Brad) and Stefan Kowal(Jeanette). Proud grandmother of Eric McKay, Jessica McKay and Jamie Smith (Andy). Dear great-grandmother of Kailey, Cassidy, and William. Great-great-grandmother of Calder. Beloved sister of Betti Swann (Geoff). Lifelong friend of Norma Wood and Betty McMahon. Mary is remembered by many nieces, nephews and relatives throughout Canada, the U.K., and Poland. Mary was Windsor's first Teacher's Aide, working with the students of Frank W. Begley Public School for over 20 years. She was a very kind woman who was loved by anyone who came to know her and will be sadly missed by all. Visitation for Mary will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Mary to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Ontario Kidney Foundation, or the Windsor Essex County Humane Society are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
