Obituary of Wiktor Bas

BAS, Wiktor Passed away at the age of 84 on Saturday, October 19, 2013 with his loving family at his side. Loving and devoted husband of Edyta (nee Weselak). Loving father of Ron (Jo-Anne), Andy (Rose) and Vicki (Jim Brennan). Cherished grandfather (Dziadziu) of Kyla, Emily, Curtis, Jeff (Chelsea), Ryan, Jordan and Nathalie. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Antonina Bas. Dear brother of Peter. Predeceased by his brother Walter and sister Janina. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Wiktor was the Co-founder and owner of Victoria Steel. He received the (CISC) Canadian Institute of Steel Construction "History of Strength" Award and was a member of Iron Workers Local 700. He was a prominent member of the Polish Community and was involved in many organizations. These included the Holy Trinity Polish Church, Polish School, Polonia Centre, Polonia Park, and the Polish Veterans. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Road East (519)253-7234 on Monday October 21, 2013 from 2 to 5pm and 6 to 9pm. Prayers Monday at 7:30pm. Relatives and friends may be received for visitation on Tuesday October 22, 2013 at Holy Trinity Polish Church (1035 Ellis Street) from 9:30am until time of funeral mass at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wiktor's memory can be made to Holy Trinity Restoration Fund.
