Obituary of Howard Justin Thomas Hughes

HUGHES, Howard Justin Thomas Passed away peacefully on September 24, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Best friend and loving husband of 59 years to Thelma (nee Godby). Devoted father of Catherine A. Humphrey (Gary), Howard Robert (Sandra), Ross Alan (Michele) and Bruce Gordon (Sandra). Cherished grandfather to Sarah Ruth Anne and William Jonathan Thomas Humphrey. Dear brother of Margaret Humphrey and the late June and Murray. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who loved and knew him. Howard was a retired teacher from Belle River District High School where he taught for many years. He was an artistic, creative and inquisitive man, gifted with many skills, an avid wood carver. The family would like to thank the Emergency Room Staff at Windsor Regional Hospital- Met Campus for their exemplary care of Howard. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Monday September 30, 2013 from 7-9 pm. Memorial visitation to continue on Tuesday October 1, 2013 from 1:00 pm until time of memorial service at 3:00 pm in the Chapel. Reverend Doreen Canavan officiating.
