Obituary of Iris Emily Shanahan

SHANAHAN, Iris Emily (nee St. Louis) Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Tecumseh on September 4, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Reunited with her husband John (2000). Beloved mother of Jack Shanahan (Leona), Jean Compeau (Rod), Laurie Fauteux (Tim) Kelly Thomas (Dan Beneteau) and late Carol (1957). Predeceased by parents Hemen and Beatrice St. Louis. Cherished grandmother of Christine, Carolyn, Anne Marie, Todd, Lindsey, John, Marissa, Emily, Paige and Alec. Also Survived by 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Louis, Morris, Edward, June, Marilyn, late Doris, late Francis, late Phyllis and late Wally. Iris will be missed by many brothers and sisters in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the Staff at Extendicare Tecumseh and Southwood Lakes for their caring and compassion they provided mom. Most of all, the family would like to lovingly thank one of their own, their sister Laurie, who gave everything she could give to comfort and care for mom during this difficult time.
