Obituary of Katharina aka Catherine /Cathy Smith

SMITH, Catherine " Cathy" (nee Zacher) Passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a brief illness. Cathy was welcomed into the arms of her loving husband Ruhl William Smith (1977). Survived by her best friend and partner Ken LaChance. Loving mother of Jennifer Lake and husband Mike (2012), Jackie Gatti and husband Chris and Janice Phillips and husband Tim. Cherished Grandma of Karrie (Sean) Maine, Mickey Lake, Sam Lake, Lauren (Brent) Gatti, Justin Phillips and Jenna Phillips. Great- grandma of Joshua, Julia and Jordan Maine. Predeceased by her brother Frank (Jan) Zacher and survived by her sister Ann (Bev) Zacher and brother Jim (Joyce) Zacher. Cathy will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. A special thank-you to all the dedicated professional care givers at The Windsor Regional Cancer Center, Hospice of Windsor and especially her favourite nurses Jim and Tim. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday June 9, 2013 from 7-9pm. Family and friends are invited to meet at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd) on Monday June 10, 2013 for visitation from 10:30am until time of Cathy"s Funeral Mass at 11:00am.
