Obituary of Pelajia aka Peggy Kryworuchko
KRYWORUCHKO, Pelajia "Peggy" (nee Machyta) Passed away peacefully on May 31, 2013 at Riverside Place Nursing Home at 90 years of age. Reunited with her loving husband Mike (1999). Cherished mother of Mike (Orest) and wife Wilma, Dorothy Kryworuchko and husband David Languedoc. Loving Baba of Michael John, and predeceased by her grandaughter Sonya (1978). Peggy came to Canada in 1949 with her husband Mike, and settled in Sudbury where her husband worked for Falconbridge Mines. In 1958 they moved to Niagara Falls where for the next 30 years, they owned and operated the Starlight Motel. She was an active member of the Parish of St. Mary's Church in Niagara Falls, and was very active in the Ukrainian Women's League and Ukrainian Black See Hall (Niagara Falls). Shortly after her husbands passing, she moved to Windsor. Special thanks to the staff a Riverside Place (Pelee Island) for the care and compassion shown to our mother. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Byzantine Catholic Church (Lake Trail Drive-Southwood Lakes, just East of Howard Avenue) on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rt. Rev. Fr. Eugene Halitsky officiating. Prayers of committal and interment to take place on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at St. Vladimir Cemetery in Oakville , at 1:00 p.m. Fr. Victor Nazartchyk officiating. In memory of Peggy, donations may be made to Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund.
