Obituary of Chedo Brkovich

BRKOVICH, Chedo Passed away on the evening of May 29th, 2020. He is the beloved father of Jacqueline and Jennifer Brkovich. Brother of the late Ugljesa (2016), Slobodan (Novka) and Nada Vukasenovich. Cherished Uncle to Gordana, Veljko, Bob (Lisa), Tanja, Tiho, late Nino and Adriana. Loving cousin to Dusan and great friend (practically family) to Jovan (Ann) and his family. Chedo was born in the Village of Necvijecu (near Trebinje), Yugoslavia (modern day Bosnia-Herzegovina) on April 20, 1941 to Mitrana (Kujacic) and Veljko. He graduated in 1959 from the Industrial School at Trebinje (Metal tool and die division). From there, he entered the Navy in Yugoslavia (Ratna Mornarica) and served for 2 years. Chedo then moved to Canada and became a proud Canadian Citizen in 1966. From that point on he began his prominent career in the Tool and Die industry that brought him many places over the years including one of the Ford plants in Mexico. He worked at various shops over the years, but the bulk of his career was at LaSalle Machine and Tool in Windsor. Chedo spent his retirement years telling the same story over and over about his years growing up in the old country, especially the ones about him racing trains and life on the farm. He spoke 5 languages, enjoyed playing the accordion and blasting his favourite Serbian folk music that you could hear down the block. Chedo enjoyed playing cards at Serbian Center in the evening, teaching his oldest daughter about car engines and his youngest daughter how to dominate any card game and dominos. He also loved to play the gusle for her and give her lessons. Chedo left a lasting impression on everyone he met, he was a proud Serb and strong-willed till the end. Believe you me.
