Obituary of Giovanni Bragaglia

BRAGAGLIA, Giovanni On the evening of May 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, Giovanni Battista Bragaglia entrusted his soul into the hands of God. Leaving behind the love of his life and best friend of over 50 years, Giovanna, who stood along side him during his courageous battle with cancer. Giovanni was born June 14, 1934 in Ceccano, Italy to Lorenzo and Domenica Bragaglia. He leaves behind his sister Vincenza, sisters-in-law Grazia, Justina and Pasqualina and brother-in-law Giovanni. Giovanni was a loving father, father-in-law and grandfather to Dominic and Nikki Bragaglia and children Claudia, Emma and Abigail, Vincenza and John Ciotoli and daughter Isabella and Lorie and Jason Gregg and their children Livia and Silia. A woodworker by trade, Giovanni came to Canada to make a better life for his young family working for Al's Woodwork and later as the owner of Battista Woodcraft, a cabinet business bearing his own name. He was an artist in his own right, creating beautiful pieces of cabinetry. He is now reunited with those that went before him, his parents, father and mother-in-law Filippo and Vincenza Rinaldi, brother-in-law Lorenzo, Francesco and Carlo, sister-in-law Lorenzina and countless relatives and friends. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 pm. Prayers Monday at 4:30 pm. Funeral Service Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 1:15 pm from the Windsor Chapel then to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (804 Grand Marais Rd. E.) until time of Funeral Mass at 2 pm. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations to the Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre and the nursing staff of the 4th floor of the Oncology Wing for their kindness and compassion given to Giovanni. A special thanks to Dr. K. F. Chung for taking the time to visit him at home and in the hospital, Doctors Elfiki and Pan for their honesty and quality care, 7 North and also Karen and Jason of Bayshore.
