Obituary of Maria Cecilia Travo

TRAVO, Maria Cecilia (nee Mastrobattista) October 11, 1961-April 20, 2013 It is with overwhelming sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria, at the age of 51. Waiting with open arms is her late husband Eugenio "Eugene" Travo (2008), the love of her life who she missed dearly. Cherished and adored mother of Amanda Travo. Loving daughter of Onorato and Natalina Mastrobattista and daughter in-law of Elvira Travo and the late Antonio Travo (2004). Missed dearly by sisters and brothers in-law Rita & Keith Trottier and Josie & Chris Thibert. Special sister in-law of Frank & Mirella Travo and Marisa &Marco Carroccia. Loving aunt to Jessica and Brian Trottier, Julia and John Thibert, Daniel, Michael, and John Travo, Vanessa, Sam, and Alexa Carroccia. Always remembered and sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins here in Windsor, USA, and Italy. Maria was a hairdresser for many years, winning many competitions before falling ill with multiple sclerosis. For over 25 years she overcame many adversities but always remained strong, positive, always persevering, never complaining. A true fighter and an inspiration to all of us. She was a resident of the Village of Aspen Lake Long Term Care Home, a place she called home for 3 years. She will be fondly remembered by many friends there. To all the EXCEPTIONAL team members at Aspen Lake, too numerous to mention, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. She was cared for with professionalism, compassion, and great love. Special thank you to Dr. A. Ng, Dr. R. Goel, Dr. J. Speirs, Dr. C. Quan, and the late Dr. R. Boyd, who always went beyond his call of duty to help Maria. Thank you to all other physicians and nurses both at WRH and HDGH that have taken care of Maria in the past. To the Staff at CCAC, Shoppers Home Health, and ProResp, we thank you for taking care of Maria's needs. Thank you to the MS Society of Windsor for all your support throughout the years. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
