Obituary of Paul Ignace Blaze Staniszewski

STANISZEWSKI- The Honourable Paul Ignace Blaze Passed away with family at his side on April 13, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Born June 4, 1925 in Montreal, Quebec. Beloved son of the late Rosalia and Julian Staniszewski. Predeceased by his first wife Wanda Boguslawski (1968), daughter Gayle Smith (2009), and four sisters, Eugene Gryszowka, Vera Morin, Regina Charbonneau and Wanda Rozymska. Husband of 42 years to Tevis. Father of Camille Hankey (Steve Milotay), Michelle Beaven (Darrel), and Andrea Charlton (Gregg). Dear "Papa Paul" of Alaina and Jordana Charlton. Brother of John Staniszewski. He will be missed by sister-in-law Lally Gouthro (Terry), Stepson, Kurt Bagnell (Heather), and Step-Grandchildren Breagh and Grier Bagnell. Paul graduated from Loyola College, University of Toronto, and Osgoode Hall Law School in 1954. He practiced law in Toronto as a partner at Bagwell, Stevens & McFarlane. In 1968, he came to Windsor to preside as a County Court Judge. He was later appointed as a Judge of the Ontario Supreme Court of Justice. In his retirement, Paul authored 5 books, and established The Staniszewski Foundation, benefitting many charitable organizations. Paul's family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Frank S. Demarco, as well as the staff of 4 North at Metropolitan Hospital for their care and compassion. He was a man, take him for all in all. I shall not look upon his kind again". Hamlet Act 1, scene ii.
