Obituary of John Kolbrich

KOLBRICH, John 85 years, passed away on November 12, 2012 at Banwell Gardens. Reunited with his beloved wife Paula, parents Fabian and Maria, brothers Adam and Josef, and sisters Katharina and Anna. Loving Dad to Erika and John, [father-in-law to Brenda], and Opa to Philip and Julianna. Survived by sister Magdalena and many nieces and nephews. Displaced during WWII from his home in Croatia, he made his way to England, where he met and married Paula in 1950, and from there emigrated to Canada in 1952. Trained as a tool and die maker, he worked at Ford Motor Company for many years, but was best remembered for his little orchard close to the airport, where he grew apples, rhubarb and other produce. John was a long time member of St. Michael"s Church and most recently St. Anne"s Church. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM. Parish prayers Thursday at 7:30 PM. Everyone is welcome to join John's family on Friday November 16, 2012 at the Banwell Chapel, for a prayer at 9:45 AM then to St. Anne"s Church ( 12233 Tecumseh Rd East ) for funeral mass at 10:30 AM.
