Obituary of John Wellesey Raymond Hinton

HINTON, Raymond "Ray" It is with profound sadness that we express the sudden passing of our beloved Ray on March 7, 2012 at the age of 75 years. Cherished husband & loving companion to Marion ( nee Anderson ) sharing 52 years of marriage. Loving dad to Michael , Kevin and Stewart & Janice. Brother in law of Joan Leeson . Dear cousin of Dave & Jane Goulding and Norene Turvolgi. Ray started his career with Canadian Pacific which spanned 25 years and a loyal and dedicated employee of Veteran Cab for many years. He will be forever remembered & honoured for his many commitments to the Anglican Church. Ray was a dedicated member of St. Mark's by-the-Lake Church. He has served as Chair of the Administration & Finance Committee for the Diocese of Huron, Member of both Provincial & General Synods, Lay Delegate to Huron's Synod for over 25 years, appointed by the Diocese of Huron to the Trinity College Corp. where he has served since the mid 1990's. Ray received the Order of Huron for his many years of service to the wider church. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. at Banwell Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM. Service of Light will take place on Sunday evening at 8:30 PM in the Banwell Chapel. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Monday March 12, 2012 at St Mark's by the Lake Church ( 150 St. Mark's Rd ) from 10:00 AM until time of Ray's funeral service at 11:00 AM. The Rt. Rev'd Robert Bennett, Bishop of Huron Celebrant & The Rev'd Canon Kevin George Preacher. Cremation to follow. A private interment will take place at St. Mary's Churchyard at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's by the Lake Church or the Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital Foundation ( Heart Research ).
