Obituary of Alexander Terrence Niven

NIVEN- Alexander Terrence January 29, 1950- March 25 2011 "Another angel has earned his wings" It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a great man. Loving husband of 39 years to Janine (Nee Gray). Al was so proud of his children Katie and her husband Marc Lemire ; and Bobby and his wife Laura (Nee Wilson). The greatest joy was being Grandpa to his "Punkie" Gwennie Lemire. Al was predeceased by parents Alex and Mary Niven, brother Bobby and sister Isabel. He is survived by sisters; Violet Hecnar (dec. Steve), Norma Chantler (Jim), Betty Nehr (Mike) and Becky McKinley (Gino). Also grieving are mother-in-law Genevieve Gray (dec. Marshall). Loved by brother and sister-in-laws; (dec.Donna) Jim Schwartz, Marsh and Mary Lou, Dennis, Greg, Gloria, Mark, Gord and Mary Lou, Peter, Gina and Kevin Smith, and Anne Gray. Loved immensly by many nieces and nephews. Al retired from Ford Motor Company in 2004 and was a member of the CAW Local 200. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Banwell Chapel) 253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E.(corner of Banwell & Tecumseh Rd.) on Monday March 28, 2011 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral services on Tuesday March 29, 2011 at 11am in the chapel. In keeping with Al's wishes, he would prefer donations in his memory to the Windsor Humane Society or to the Canadian Food for Children c/o Frank Chauvin.
