Obituary of Jozef Blazevic

BLAZEVIC, Jozef (Joso). Prayerfully and triumphant with song, Jozef Blazevic overcame his difficult battle and stayed true to the tender love of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Jozef entered his Father"s eternal home on March 22, 2013 while in the loving arms of his beloved wife, "Annie", with whom he shared 52 years of marriage."His Lord said unto Him: 'well done, thou good and faithful servant... Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord'". Joseph was born in Velagici, Bosna, Hrvatska on Sept. 10, 1933. Son of late Ante and Marija Blazevic (nee Vrkljan). Caring and predobar Tata of Mary Ann and Ridge Vincent, Josipa and Bob Sobocan, Ante and Joanne Blazevic, Manda and Nandor Virban, Francie and Frank van den Boorn, Nada and D"Arcy Ryan, Helen and Bob Andonian, Stevie and Breda Blazevic. Loved Dida of Josip, Michael, Nicholas, Maria, Paul, Stephanie, Matthew, Andrew, Mark, Jacob, Joshua, A.J., Jonny, James, Kathleen, Kristen, Thomas, Nolan, Geoff, Corinna, Anna, Aidan, Owen, Liam, Samantha (fiance Justin), Robert, Simon, Johanna, Stephen, Isabel, Philip, Joseph, Sophia, Iliana, Adria, and Evangeline. Brother of the late Mara, Anna, late Kajica, late Stjepan, late Franjo, late Stipe and Jela. Son-in-law of late Luka and Ana Pavicic. Brother-in-law of Marija and late Pero Lovric, Franjo and Nada Pavicic, Mike and Mary Pavicic, and late John Pavicic. Loved by many relatives in Hrvatska, Australia, Chile, Canada (Toronto - Niece Ika Saric). Past president of Hrvatska Katolicka Zajednica and Croatian Catholic Union. Member and past president of United Croats of Canada, founding member and past president of Croatian Centre, 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus, Kardinal A. Stepinac Council #11774, and member of Hrvatsko Zemljiste. Joso was very grateful for the 42 years he worked at General Motors Transmission Plant and loved all his union brothers and sisters at local 1973. Special thanks for all the love and care Joso received throughout his illness from his health care providers, particularly Tata's Laura (Dr. Voltic), Sue, Laura, John, Linda, all the wonderful VON staff, Hospice doctors and health practitioners, and the following physicians: Dr. Hartwell; Dr. Bacchus; Dr. Luo; Dr. Coughlin; Dr. Allum; Dr. Hirmiz. He will be fondly remembered for his parish work and prayer group. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday, March 24th, 2013 from 6-9 pm and on Monday March 25th from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Knights of Columbus Prayers Sunday at 8 pm and parish prayers Monday at 8 pm. Funeral service on Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 at 9:30am from the funeral home, then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment Windsor Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to honour Jozef"s life may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church Building Fund or Restoration Fund for Marija Zvijezda Trappist Monastery in Banja Luka, Bosna, Croatia, with whom he lived and loved during his World War II boyhood.
