Le grand-p"re ador" de Chantal (& Ben Reist " Hope BC) & Rejean (Chilliwack BC), Adrienne & Justin (LaSalle) & Jean-Marc (London). Arri"re grand-papa de Eli. Last surviving sibling of a family of 13 children and brother to Angeline Papineau (2011) (Real - 2002); Bernadette (2003); Gerard (1989) & Marguerite (1997), Sylvain (1996) & Marie (1998); Adrien (1988) & Madeleine (2001), Nil (1944), Roland (2005) & Evelyn (Roy), Fernand (1978), Marcel (1998), Fr. Lucien o.m.i. (1979), Rosaire (1998) & Jenny (1993), et Ren" (1989) all of who born and raised in Windsor"s Riverside area. Omer is beloved uncle to a great many nieces and nephews. Ancien membre de La Ligue des Retraitants, Omer "tait un des piliers dans la cr"ation de l'Association de la radiot"l"vision fran"aise du sud-ouest de l'Ontario. C'est par son implication et son d"vouement envers la langue fran"aise qu'il a contribu" au lancement du poste de radio CBEF " Windsor. Il "tait membre de la Place Concorde. Brother-in-law to Jeanne, Bernice, Rene (& Raymonde), Joseph Bisnaire and Tim Laird. Proudly French Canadian, Omer was a big fan of the Windsor Spitfires as well as a golfer, bowler and card player until his 89th year. Omer Parent retired in 1988 as an Adjudicator for the Unemployment Insurance Board and also worked for the Canadian Automobile Association for many years. An original parishioner of St. Paul in LaSalle since 1954, Omer was a regular attendee at many area churches including Sacred Heart Church in LaSalle, where the funeral mass and burial will be held. Omer specifically wished a kind regard mentioned to the 8th floor nursing staff at Windsor Regional Hospital. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Monday March 18, 2013 from 2:30 pm to 5 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. Prayers 3 pm. Relatives and friends are requested to meet at Sacred Heart Church (219 Sacred Heart Dr., LaSalle, Ontario) on Tuesday March 19, 2013 from 10 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am.
