Obituary of Istvan Takarich

TAKARICH, Istvan "Steven" It is with heavy hearts that the Takarich and Cool families announce the passing of Istvan (Steven) Takarich. He is deeply mourned by Piroska (Patricia), his wife of nearly 61 years, by his son Zoltan and daughter-in-law Lisa, by his daughter Erika and son-in-law Jonathan and by his beloved granddaughter Andrea Jacyk-Takarich.Early in their lives, Steven and his wife, along with their two small children, embarked on a courageous journey to find a better life. That journey brought them from their ethnic Hungarian ancestral homeland, through Germany to eventually settle in Canada. Despite facing many challenges along the way, Steven and his wife persevered and succeeded in building a strong, well rounded life in Canada, one that included establishing a successful 35-year machine tool business in Toronto and one that offered their children opportunities that they themselves could never have imagined. Those who knew Steven will always remember and admire him for his bravery, strength and love. Although he will be sadly missed, he will forever remain in our hearts. We are so very grateful that his was indeed a life well lived. May God rest his soul. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated.
