Obituary of James Anthony O'Connor
O'Connor, James "Jas" Born September 1, 1925 in Kells, Ireland. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather on November 16th, 2012 at Windsor Regional Hospital after a brief fight with cancer. Beloved Husband to his "Sweetie" and wife of 60 years Nancy (2012). Loving Dad to Patricia Gabrieau (Larry), Pam (2002), Dee (Louis), Jim, Patrick, Nancy and Joanne. Adored Grandfather to Paul (1993), Jacqueline, Priscilla, Danielle, Carly, Harmony, Dylan and Kelsey. Best Great-Grandpa to baby Joey. Predeceased by his parents James and Mary Ann, brother Tom and sisters Alice and Kathleen. Our Dad was a man of wisdom and guidance. He loved to share his knowledge with his family and had the opportunity to do so in his career as an auto mechanics teacher for the Greater Essex County School Board. He had a passion for mechanics and airplanes and enjoyed working as an airline mechanic prior to his teaching career. His love for his family was enormous. November 16th will always be a special day for his grand-daughter Carly. This will be your day Grandpa will shine down on you from heaven. Celebrate your birthday each year with the knowledge he will be with you as you know he loved a great party. A toast will be in order in true Irish fashion. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Windsor Downtown Mission would be appreciated.
