Obituary of Ernest "Ernie" Garant

GARANT, Ernest Abel (Ernie) Jan. 25, 1938 - April 21, 2020 Age 82, in Windsor, Ontario With great sadness we announce that Ernie passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife Elaine (Nee Soulliere) at his side, after a battle with cancer. Loving father of Lori and Neil (Anne) Garant and cherished Papa of Emily. He is survived by his brothers Maurice (Donna), George (Linda) and Clifford (Joan) and in-laws Dorothy Kungel (late John), Vicki and John Pawlowski, Gary Snyder, Rose Soulliere and Linda Soulliere. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews and friends along with special friends Gail Souchereau and Moira and John Ginham. Predeceased by his parents Leopold and Mae (Caza), brothers and sisters Bea Marentette (Eugene), Bruno (Doreen), Edward (Chick), Rose Pillon (Hector), Richard (Joanne) and Rene (1952), in-laws: Moe (Deanna), Jim (June), John (Deanna), Mary Leona Snyder, Paul, Bill (Carol), Cathy Malette (Al), Patrick and Charlie. Ernie retired from Ford Motor Company in 1997 and he was a faithful member of St. John Vianney Church since 1969. He was an avid collector of many things, but his most precious collection was his family. A private service will be held at Windsor Chapel -Banwell and he will be interred at the Resurrection Mausoleum in Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
