Obituary of Giuseppina Longo

LONGO, Giuseppina (nee Pignanelli) It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Giuseppina, a loving mamma, nonna and sister on August 30, 2012, at the age of 87 years. Reunited with her beloved husband Vincenzo (1977) and daughter Aurora (2005). Loving and devoted mother to Vito (Giovanna), Biagio (Silvana), and Mario (Sina). Dear mother in-law to Antonio Surianello of Italy. Cherished "Ma Geppina" to 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Mario (Antonietta), Giovanni (Gina) of Switzerland, Luigi (Maria), Rosina (Agostino) Marra, and Silvana (Domenico) Pulice. Predeceased by siblings Vincenzo and surviving wife Marietta, Pasquale and wife Francesca, and Maria and Rocco Minutolo. Dear sister in-law to Franca (Battista) DeLuca, and the late Giuseppe and Giovanna Longo, and the late Maria and Pasqualino Bitonti. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Switzerland, U.S.A., Canada and Italy. Giuseppina was a devoted parishioner at Holy Name of Mary Parish where she served in numerous capacities. Giuseppina's passion was her gardening and bread making but, her greatest pride and joy in life was her family. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. Parish prayers Friday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
